Connected Openers, Without the Sales Pitch

Highlevelcenter works on garage door openers across Long Beach, with a focus on the connected ones. App control, alerts, cameras and delivery access. We are on Del Amo Blvd in the 90815 ZIP.

Our position on this is probably not what you would expect from a company that fits them: most smart features are used a handful of times and then forgotten, and one is genuinely worth the money.

The One That Matters

Status and alerts. Being able to check from your phone whether the door is open, and getting a notification when it has been open for twenty minutes, is the thing people keep using years later.

It ends the drive back to check. It catches the door left up after unloading the car. On a house where several people use the garage it removes an entire category of low-grade worry.

Everything else is convenience, and convenience is worth what it is worth to you.

Retrofit Before Replacement

If your existing opener is mechanically sound, a retrofit controller wired to it gives you app control and alerts without replacing a working motor. It is cheaper and there is less to go wrong.

We suggest that first wherever it applies, and we will tell you when your opener is old enough that replacement is the better spend anyway.

What Connectivity Does Not Do

It does not make the door safer. The photo eyes and the contact reversal do that work, and an app that can close a door you cannot see makes those more important rather than less.

So we test both reversals on every visit, connected or not.
